Praia da Gale Beach: The Family-friendly Beach
In the region of Algarve, around 4 kilometers to the west of Albufeira, is the small beach resort known as Praia da Gale Beach. Part of a once-agricultural town that has now flourished into an ultimate holiday destination, you can pass by sceneries such as patches of greens, olive plantations, vineyards, and orange groves. Moreover, there are beautifully designed accommodation options around, including hotels, villas, and apartments.
Praia da Gale Beach is very close to those of Praia dos Salgados and Armacao de Pera, making it very easy for locals and tourists to venture to other beaches, which are found on both sides. The Gale’s Algarve area is divided into two. On the east, you can find plenty of rocky formations, along with caves. They are usually visited by adventurers who wish to climb these rocky outcrops. There are also families who prefer the area because of rock pools.
The eastern side is more spacious, wider, and more open. Here, several water activities are enjoyed, including water surfing.
The Praia da Gale Algarve’s beach is friendly to families, especially with children. The sands are fine and very soft. They also carry blue flags, meaning the waters are very clean and safe. There is also the Zoomarine Park, which is only 15 minutes from the beach, if travelled by car. They can also head to Salgados Nature Reserve or the sand dunes that are only 5 kilometers away.
Few restaurants and bars are found at the beach, so you should be ready to drive for a few minutes to reach the best places to eat, particularly those that offer children’s menus.
As expected, visitors come to Praia da Gale Beach during the summer, though there are also others who take a dip between the months of November and March, where the beach is a lot quieter.
