A recent entry in the world of Lisbon restaurants, Assinatura means “signature” in Portuguese and with the help of its chef, Henrique Mouro, Assinatura Restaurant is leaving its mark in the city.
Featuring exotic starters such as lobster in a cold stew and chicken served with almonds and a honeycomb, it sets the mark high at the beginning of your meal and never lets up. In this Lisbon restaurant every course is an adventure in discovery of gastronomy and personal style.
In Portugal, fish is the most traditional fare and Chef Mouro leaves you wanting for more with main dishes such as squid and monkfish served with potatoes and olives, baked sole and scallops or grilled tuna with sweet potatoes and pineapples specially chosen from the Azores.
Fish not quite your favorite? Try Veal Maronesa with figs, grapes and special spices or cold terrine of rabbit or better yet, pork tenderloin with creamed snails.
The Assinatura restaurant assures you that you may enter as a guest, but when it’s time to leave, you will feel like a personal friend of Chef Mouro. Only a friend would be able to sample so many delicious creations, topped off with spectacular desserts such as strawberries in mint or peaches baked into custard in addition to a wide range of locally produced wines and other vintages.
This Lisbon Restaurant can get a bit pricey, but there is a reasonable sampling menu for around 50 Euros and a lunch menu for 30 Euros.
