Welcome To Largo Restaurant: The House of Two Miguel’s

Miguel Cancio Martins, formerly of the Buddha Bar in Paris, designed the Largo Restaurant to be romantic for those who need it to be, and yet be sophisticated at the same time. The old columns from the cloister were kept, and the open space designed to hold nearly a hundred people at a time. Danish lights and aquariums stocked with sea anemones and jellyfish, dazzle the patrons with their simplicity and mesmerizing activity.
Meanwhile, chef Miguel Castro e Silva has worked his own magic on the menu, drawing upon his years of experience at the Bull & Bear, undoubtedly one of Portugal’s best known restaurants.
The menu blends international cuisine with local favorites, and is a huge hit with the locals, and visitors, alike. Its wine list is mostly made up of local favorites, chosen based on how well they work with the food.
At the Largo Restaurant the cost is above average, around 40 Euros, but so worth the added expense. Be sure to book in advance, as word grows, tables are very hard to come by, especially during the summer.
